Even an apparently simple domestic project can have significant complications when planning rules, Building Regulations and new legislation is considered. Every project is different, but Graeme Barclay operates a systematic approach to the design and construction process. Architect's services may include the following:-
Measured Building Surveys
Feasibility Studies
Advice on Appointment of Consultants
Preliminary Cost Advice
Project Programming
Scheme Design
Planning Applications
Planning Appeals
Technical Design Drawings
Building Regulations Applications
Production Information
Specifications
Advice on Selection of Builders
Tender Action
Contract Administration
Site Inspection

After an initial enquiry is made, a site meeting will be arranged with a client to agree the brief and scope of services needed to complete the project. Following the meeting, a fee proposal will be provided in a formal letter giving full details of the commission, before an agreement is reached and design work commences.

Fees for architectural services may be 'lump sum' (fixed) or based on a percentage of the project construction cost, depending on the complexity of the project; design risk involved; and scope of services to be provided.

If you wish to make an appointment to discuss your project, please contact Graeme Barclay, and he will arrange an initial consultation with you.
